Here is an interesting article I just stumbled on that was originally published back in May (from moderateindependent.com):
WHILE DISNEY CLAIMS IT IS REFUSING TO DISTRIBUTE THE MOORE FILM BECAUSE IT IS TOO PARTISAN, DISNEY CONTINUES TO OPERATE HARD CORE RIGHT-WING RADIO STATIONS FROM COAST TO COAST
Purely Partisan Hosts Larry Elder, Al Rantel, And Others Make Up The Lineup On Disney-Owned Right-Wing Radio Stations Like KABC 790 In Los Angeles
by Ben F. Terton
MAY 5, 2004 – This will be a very short article and to the point.
Disney is saying today it will not distribute Michael Moore’s new documentary Fahrenheit 911 because it is politically partisan and Disney doesn’t want to risk offending a group of its audience by taking sides.
Well, turn on KABC 790 AM if you are in Los Angeles, or WABC talk radio in New York, or one of several Disney-owned radio stations around the nation and tell me what you find. Yes, that’s right: all right-wing talk all the time.
Not only partisan, extremely partisan. Even more, highly derisive of anyone who is not a Bush Republican. Insults. Name calling. Not to mention lies and distortions, hateful partisan attacks, and dishonest smears against Democrats and liberals all day every day.
I don't need to go on and on about this point. Quite simply, call up Disney and let them know we know they are liars, and that you won't stand for them pushing the Bush side while silencing the other side.
You can reach them at: Thomas Staggs
Chief Financial Officer
The Walt Disney Company
Phone: (818) 560-1000
If you own Disney stock, tell them you won't stand for them using your money to push for the Bush side while censoring the other side. Call:
Wendy Webb, Investor Relations
The Walt Disney Company
Phone: (818) 560-5758
And then write your favorite media people. Start with Howard Kurtz of the Washington Post just for kicks:
kurtzh@washpost.com
Write to the LA Times, Disney's hometown newspaper where one of their all right-wing all the time radio stations operates and tell them how dare Disney claim they are only trying to avoid partisanship when they operate the likes of 790 AM.
letters@latimes.com
And then write your favorite papers and sites. We have the world's attention about Disney finally, and they would hate the bad publicity.
Remember, these are the people that hired Rush Limbaugh for the ESPN station they own, but then pulled him off once the people got mad.
Hit the Mickey rat and hit it hard.
Thank you for your attention.
