The U.S. position in Iraq has now been declared hopeless.
By the Defeatocrats? By Ward Churchill and Noam Chomsky? By the Liberal Media?
Nope. By Zalmay Khalilzad, the U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, and by the Bechtel Corporation. Khalilzad wouldn't be quitting, and Bechtel wouldn't be pulling out, if they saw any possibility of success.
Khalilzad isn't saying anything, but Bechtel's field boss in Iraq put it clearly: "... to the horror of everyone, it never stabilized. It just went down, down, down, and to this day it continues to go down."
It's over.
